For me, the 2018 Red Hat Summit was filled with firsts. It was my first Summit experience as well as my first time in San Francisco. Lastly (don’t tell anyone this), it was my first tech conference. While I’m no stranger to filming and editing live events, the approach Red Hat took to cover Summit also felt brand new.

Was it the comprehensive production schedule our producers created? Was it shipping my iMac Pro from Raleigh to San Francisco? (No one wants to edit on a laptop.) Was it the state-of-the-art equipment our team used? (I love you Adobe, Canon, DJI, and Sony.) Was it the eloquent on-camera talent? Maybe. I could make a long list of questions that subtly promote Red Hat operations, but I’ll save you from that.

It was the team.

It was the culmination of different individual skills and personalities coming together to create video content with perfect synergy (think Power Rangers Megazord). Simply put, I spent five 12-to-14 hour days in a war room with an array of coworkers creating time-sensitive video content and had fun. That speaks for itself.
