For the second year in a row, Hopscotch Design Festival is taking over downtown Raleigh and bringing some of the brightest minds in design together for two days of sharing ideas.
Since Red Hat is a sponsor this year, we want to take the opportunity to share one of our favorite ways to work together — the file swap.
We’ve all been at the point in a project where each designer has been working on their own solution, and somehow all these ideas need to come together. By swapping files, everyone gets the chance to “try on” someone else’s solution – and bring their own perspective to someone else’s work. The result can be the best parts of each designer’s approach coming together, better and stronger for the collaboration.
We want to do the same thing with you. We created illustrations to give away as stickers at Hopscotch, and we want to see what happens when you bring your voice into the mix.
So here’s what you need to do:
- Download our source files. Red Hat has released the illustrations we used for the stickers under CC0, so you can download and use them however you want, without restrictions. The files are .svg, so you can use them with the vector design tools of your choice.
- Make something awesome.
- Share it with us, either by commenting on this post or sharing on twitter (we’re @RH_openstudio). We want to see what we’ve made together!
And if you’re at Hopscotch this year, come see us! We’re in the lobby at CAM, and we’d love to meet you in person.
